Tiffany Tucker is a third semester nursing student at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. Upon receiving her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, she plans to start her career as an ICU nurse. She also plans to continue her education, becoming a CRNA. Tiffany is an active member of UAH’s Association of Nursing Students as well as the National Student Nurses’ Association. As President, her goals are to increase the number of active members by fostering the establishment of more local chapters. Tiffany is looking forward to serving as AANS President for the 2019-2020 school year.

Hello, my name is Anna Beth. I am the Vice President of AANS. I am also the VP of my local chapter at the University of Alabama in Huntsville where I am a 3rd semester nursing student. I absolutely love my university and have such a passion for my field of study. For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted to be a nurse and I am finally living my dream! After graduation, I plan to work as a labor and delivery nurse while pursuing a Masters degree at the University of Alabama in Huntsville.

Hi, my name is Ali Grace Shelton. I am a fourth semester nursing student at the University of Alabama Capstone College of Nursing. I am an active member of the Capstone Association of Nursing Students as well as the National Student Nurses’ Association. My name is Candice Davis and I am the Treasurer for the AANS Executive Board 2019-2020. I am currently in my third semester of the nursing program at Bevill State Community College in Fayette, Al. In my role as Treasurer, I work closely with our faculty advisor to keep track of all income, expenses, and balances of the organization as well as assist the board in preparing for events and duties.

My name is Kassydi Spurgeon and I am a third semester nursing student at Wallace State Community College in Hanceville, Al. I am honored and proud to serve as communications director for 2019-2020. I, also, currently serve as Class President for my cohort. After receiving my ADN, I plan to enroll into a university where I plan to get my BSN, and eventually obtain my DNP with a focus in pediatric oncology. I believe that the best thing you can do for yourself and the world around you is to be the light that shines, even when everything around you fades away, because it is your light that could make the change that this world needs. I plan to use my light to be a positive change and impact, and to serve you as Communications Director for year 2019-2020.

Hannah Reynolds
Hannah Reynolds
Hannah Reynolds is a fourth semester student at the Capstone College at The University of Alabama. She has been a member of the NSNA for 3 years. Hannah is currently the president of the Capstone Association of Nursing Students, vice president of the Capstone College of Nursing Serve, Recruitment Advisor of Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Fraternity, and a Capstone College of Nursing ambassador. Upon graduation, Hannah hopes to work in a pediatric ICU before continuing her education to become a CRNA. In her role as Breakthrough to Nursing Director, she strives to advocate for the nursing profession by educating the young people in the state of Alabama about the many opportunities nursing has to offer.
Community Health Director
Stahler Heath
Stahler is a third semester nursing student at The University of Alabama in Huntsville. Stahler holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in Management Information Systems (MIS) from The University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. He spent several years as a Risk Assurance Experienced Associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and is currently a Business Support Analyst and full-time student. Upon graduation, Stahler is looking to bridge his Computer Science experience with Nursing in the field of Informatics and go on to pursue CRNA school. He served as the 2018-2019 Communications Director during which time the AANS website won the Most Outstanding State Website award at the NSNA National Conference. He is looking forward to serving Alabama as the 2019-2020 Community Health Director.

LANDON NICHOLS
My name is Landon Nichols and I am the Legislative Chair for the AANS Executive Board 2019-2020. I am currently in my third semester earning my Associate Degree of Applied Science in Nursing at Bevill State Cmmunity College in Fayette, Al. In my role as Legislative Chair, I work with all members of AANS board keeping everyone informed of any legislative changes statewide and nationally. I also work closely with my fellow board members in planning AANS events and conferences.

Laura Bowman was born and raised in Huntsville, AL and is currently in her third semester of nursing school at The University of Alabama in Huntsville. She is interested in critical care nursing and is planning to continue her education after graduating in December 2020. She is involved in her local ANS chapter serving as the Mentor/Mentee Program Director. She is excited to have the opportunity to serve her fellow nursing students across the state of Alabama as Director North for 2019-2020.

MaKayla A. Davis is a Junior , first semester nursing student at Tuskegee University from the Jubilee City of Daphne, Alabama. She serves as NEC Director South for the Alabama Associations of Nursing Students for the 2019-2020 term. Following graduation she plans to continue her education by enrolling in a BSN to DNP program with a focus in Family Practice or Women’s Health. Her goal as Director South is to promote AANS involvement for nursing students across Alabama on a local, regional, state, and national level.

Donna Guerra EdD, MSN, RN, Dr. Guerra serves as the Faculty Advisor to the AANS Executive Board. Dr. Guerra received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Alabama in Huntsville and her Master of Science in Nursing with a concentration on Rural Case Management from the University of Alabama. She received an EdD in Nursing Education and Instructional Leadership from the University of Alabama. Dr. Guerra is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, and teaches undergraduate students in the Baccalaureate Degree program. She is actively involved in committees within the College of Nursing and the University. |

Jeanette Atkinson currently serves as the liaison between AANS and the Alabama State Nurses Association (ASNA). She graduated with her BSN from the University of North Alabama in 2000 and is currently pursuing her MSN focusing on Nursing Leadership at UNA. She has worked as an RN for the past 17 years starting out as a pediatric nurse for 4 years followed by working on the Mother/Baby unit at Huntsville Hospital W&C since 2004. She is currently the Clinical Education Specialist on Mother/Baby and has a passion for helping nursing students and new graduates transition into the nursing profession. Jeanette has been actively involved in ASNA for the past 3 years and currently serves as vice president for ASNA district 1. She is committed to increasing communication between ASNA and AANS and is glad to assist AANS members in any way that she can.
